"The Boca"

Boca de Tomatlan is a small fishing village ten miles south of Puerto Vallarta. There are four small grocerias, a tortia factory and 4 sesaside restaurants with palapa (thatched roof) style eating, right on the beach. Have a meal served to you at a table on the beach with your feet in the sand. Fishing boats bring in fresh fish each day for purchase. There are boat trips that leave for various destinations further down the coast. Water taxis provide round trip service to Yelapa daily. Boca boats are also available for hire for fishing as well as snorkeling and scuba diving at such places as Los Arcos National Reserve and Calamitus. Boca Divers can arrange water excursions for you on request. They are a reliable professional resource. Sea kayaks are also available for rental for use in the bay or to paddle to secluded beaches down the coast. From November through February whale watching is a popular pastime as the mothers and new borns migrate south from the Baja peninsula. It's exciting to see whales and dolphin frolic in the Boca bay while relaxing on our patio. Hike the jungle path along the seaside cliff with dramatic vistas and tropical flora and fauna or take a horseback ride along waterfalls in Mismoloya (next village north). The local people in Boca are friendly and welcoming. Guests are warmly invited to the many village fiestas that happen throughout the year. The Boca is an ideal place just to relax and get away or engage in any number of the numerous activities it has to offer.
